Birdy Skins for Chapter Four

I basically stopped doing full skin "reviews", because they take me FOREVER to finish. I am talking days! I have no idea why I am so slow. So, I am trying a new approach and am trying it again. My next couple of posts will be all about skin.
Speaking of skin... One of the newest skins that have really caught my attention, are Birdy Skins. nina Helix, the designer behind Birdy Skins, creates the most beautiful hand drawn skins. They have a lovely and soft ethereal feel to them, not unlike the skins from -tres blah-. Since the skin is hand drawn and not completely photo-sourced, you will find a few minor imperfections in some of the features. Personally, I find these small imperfections, the most charming part about these skins. Nina's skins are also extremely affordable. In fact, I think she needs to charge more for these high quality creations. For this round of Chapter Four, you can find her new "Ingrid" skin for just 99L per make-up!

There are a total of 4 make-ups , which come in her 'pure' skin tone, that come with several options. Each make-up has 3 different types of shading embedded into the skin - Dew, Matte and Regular. There are also 5 brow options that are embedded into the skin - Bare, Blonde, Brown, Red and Black. There is a gloss tattoo as well.

I highly recommend going over to Chapter Four and demoing this skin. I also suggest checking out Nina's Birdy Skins Mainstore too. 

I am so happy that Kavar Cleanslate of Exile is releasing ahir again! He has definitely been missed. This month, he is participating in 3 different events with a gorgeous exclusive style for each. In the above pics, I am wearing his FaMESHed exclusive, called "Where We Belong". It is a fabulous side bun/ponytail hybrid with long wavy locks. A definite MUST have!

Because I was barely here for August, I did not get a chance to blog Daphne Klossovsky's (of HANDverk), "Zelda Necklace and Earrings". They were an August Collabor88 Exclusive, but they are available in the HANDverk Mainstore now. Daphne has an amazing eye for detail and creates the most brilliant pieces. I aimpley adore this art deco inspired set, which is available incomes in a ton of colors.

A Note To All Designers and Readers

I sincerely apologize for my lack of posts over the last month and half. I have been quite ill. In fact, it is an illness that I have been struggling with for awhile. At times, the symptoms become very severe. I just started yet another treatment plan. So far, it seems to be working well. I will be doing my best right now to get caught-up with my blog.Not only do I have a lot of incredible designs to show, but I am also trying to rework the content and format of my blog a bit. So, I can include mor skin reviews, more home and garden, focus on hair, more close-up features on accessories, etc.. I am open to all suggestions and feedback. I know my pics have been a bit crappy lately, since I think my graphic card is on it's way out. Please bear with me until I fix the problem. Thank you all for your continued support. Last Day For July Collabor88!

When I think of the typical cottage in SL, I envision a small and cozy one bedroom home. So, when I went to go rez this 'lakeside cottage' from Barnesworth Anubis, I did not expect much different. To my surprise, this gorgeous 'lakeside cottage' is anything but small and cozy. It is HUGE! It is has 3 roomy bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, a stunning living room and tons of windows that bathe the home in light! I actually ran out of prims, before I could fully decorate this home. But then again, my homestead never has enough prims. This 'lakeside cottage' is a July Collabor88 exclusive, so you will want to run an grab it before it is gone at 11:59 pm today!

I chose to decorate the living room with a beautiful 'deconstructed living room' set from Cheeky Pea. I also used recent releases from {what next} as well. These are obviously two of my favorite home decor designers in SL. 

I also had some items left over from 'The Home Show' (which is sadly now over) created by !! Follow US !! and ~BAZAR~, which I had not gotten a chance to blog yet....

I wanted to save the best for last.... The bedroom! All of the furniture and decorations are from warehousefifteendesigns Resident of Apple Fall and are July Collabor88 exclusives! The details are so lovely and charming. I am in seriously in LOVE with this whole set!

NSFW: [PXL] for Love Donna Flora!

 As you may have already heard, Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora has been battling breast cancer that has now metastasized to her bones. Unfortunately, this terrible disease has made her extremely weak and unable to create the incredible designs that she's known for. Not only is she an amazing creator, but a beloved friend to many. Thankfully, Squint has many wonderful and talented friends/supporters, who quickly put together this fundraiser, called "Love Donna Flora". It opens today and 50-100 percent of all sale proceeds will go straight to financing her treatment costs. We hope that the funds raised from this event will help get her the treatment she needs in order to fight this deadly disease.
Hart Larsson of [PXL Creations] is one of the talented designers who are participating in this event. He created a gorgeous skin called "Diva", which was inspired by Marilyn Monroe and comes in 4 different make-ups. He also re-created Marilyn's infamous 'Calendar Pose', which is also called "Diva". Both the skins and the pose are available for sale at this event. Like I have previously mentioned, 50-100 percent of all sale proceeds will go straight to Squint's cause. All About ISON!

This post took me days to finish, because I just could not seem to take a good picture.There was always something wrong. Things such as: wrong angles, wrong light, wrong pose, etc... What made this whole situation particularly frustrating, is the fact that my clothes and hair were perfect! I had on ISON hair, an ISON dress and ISON shoes! You would think that by wearing such beautiful creations, my images would come with ease. So, the first picture that you will see, is heavily edited in Photoshop. However, I did not modify or alter my clothes and shoes.

For this post, I chose to wear Harry Hyx's (ISON) gorgeous Collabor88 exclusives. He created this lovely mesh 'ruffle dress' and these amazing 'leather strap sandals'. The sandals were developed to be worn with the Slink mesh feet (flat). I love the fact that so many designers are doing this with their shoes, especially since I was never a fan of my ugly avatar feet. Plus, now that there are appliers for the the Slink mesh feet, I don't have to spend hours trying to match my feet to my skin. 

When I thought about accessorizing my outfit, I did not have to go any further than Collabor88. There are so many incredible items to be found this month! I chose this brilliant mesh clutch 'Owl Clutch' from Marie Lauridsen (of Milk Motion), a delicate 'Sketchy Flower Necklace' from Natalee Oodles (of Noodles) and pretty little 'Midsummer Blossom' earrings from Polyester Partridge (of Yummy . Oh, and of course, a beautiful statement ring and bracelet from Gyorgyna Larnia's (of LaGyo) 'Axila Collection'! 

The stunning skin I am wearing is also from this month's Collabor88. I absolutely LOVE aida Ewing's (Glam Affair) new 'LuLu' skin line. The lips are simply delicious! aida created a collection of 5 skins in various tones and wonderful make-ups.

Harry Hyx (ISON) not only makes fabulous clothes, but he makes fabulous hair too! He created three AMAZING new hair styles for Hair Fair 2013. The hair textures are outstanding and come in HUD driven tone packs. The HUD not only includes solid colors, but fades and ombre options too! I am in love with every style he has made and I definitely look forward to seeing more hair from him in the future.

Exile for 'Hair Fair' 2013 and 'Boutique' exclusives!

Hair Fair 2013 is going strong. It is definitely one of my favorite events of the year. Not to mention, donations from all event exclusives and 100% of all bandanna sales, go to Wigs for Kids. Wigs for Kids is a very special and favored charity of mine. It provides children, who are already having a tough time fighting cancer, regain some of the self-esteem due to the hair loss from their intense cancer treatments. Kavar Cleanslate of Exile, created 4 gorgeous new hair styles for Hair Fair 2013. He made two gorgeous long and curly styles, one long and way style and one mid-length and wavy style. All are stunning and you MUST go check it out!

The Boutique is here again and there are so many fabulous exclusives! The theme is Safari and all the designers this cycle went all out! One such exclusive is from Tricky Boucher of Belleza. He released a very special and extremely beautiful edition of his 'Ava' skin line. All the make-ups are so lovely and neutral in color. You simply must demo this special edition before it is gone!

Speaking of awesome 'Boutique' exclusives, Inex Hax of Peqe created this wonderful mesh 'Silk Tank' with four colors to choose from. Caelyn Hancroft of Cae, released a perfectly rendered mesh jewelry set called, "Safari". I absolutely adore this elephant adorned necklace that Caelyn created. It is texture change too!

The Sea Hole is Closing It's Doors For Good Tomorrow

I was very sad to hear that the extremely talented and innovative Drinkinstein Sorbet will be closing the doors to her seriously awesome store, The Sea Hole.

As of Monday, May 13th , 2013 I have officially decided to retire from doing business in Second Life.
As many others before me, this course was chosen as a means to spend more time on Real Life adventures.

Its Been my pleasure to have had the privilege of knowing so many brilliantly talented friends and business associates throughout the last five years as the creator of The Sea Hole, and Collabor88. The colorful and boundless world of SL has forever changed my perspective on artistry, and imagination. The people Ive been so lucky to have known and befriended will always be remembered with fondness and warmth.
The Customers who have supported me and my various projects with their patronage and kindness will never ever be rivaled even on the best days in RL.

Drinkinstein Sorbet

When I think of original creators, Drink is one of the first designers who come to mind. I have always been in awe of her ingenious hand drawn textures and stunning designs. She is also the brain child behind the super successful event, Collabor88. Thankfully, she has an amazing staff that will keep this event going strong. Drink and her fabulous designs will me missed tremendously. So, please make sure you run down to The Sea Hole and grab all your favorite creations before the doors close on May 31st. Light!

I am so sick of feeling crappy and am hoping for a speedy recovery. I figured I would start with a relatively easy post that just contained one image. However, nothing is ever fast or easy with me. LOL!, I tend to unnecessarily fuss over stupid things. I had this fabulous mesh 'Giant Dish Hat' that was created by Amberly Boccaccio of -Glam Affair-. In comes in a ton of stunning colors and is available at the L'Accessories event.
Speaking of -Glam Affair- goodness, I am wearing the beautiful new Margot skin, which was created by aida Ewing. It is a Collabor88 exclusive and comes in a choice 6 gorgeous make-ups, a ton of brow colors and also a 'clean' make-up option (which I am wearing). All the make-ups come in the America tone. It is not too dark and not too pale, so it should be a perfect skin tone for most. I really hope aida decides to create a whole line of this lovely skin. I was hoping to get this post up last night, before the Cosmetics Fair was over, but I failed :(. I chose to wear one of aida's amazing Margot full make-up tattoo's from this event for this post. However, you never know, she may decide to sell them in the -Glam Affair-  mainstore.
FINALLY! After much waiting, Kavar Cleanslate of Exile, just released a bunch of new hairstyles! This was a LONG awaited release and now we know why it took so long! It seems that Kavar was working on a new HUD system for his hair! There is a HUD for each color set (ie, dark blondes) and for each hair color (ie, Hollywood), there are 8 streaking options. You simply must try on a demo and see all the fabulous looks that you can create. I am wearing the gorgeous 'Desperately Wanting' hairstyle in the below image. However, due to the pose and camera angle, I was not able to show it off in a nice way. I ended up altering it with a ton of brushes in Photoshop, in order to give it a finished look. Especially since my glitchy avi was obstructing it's lovely flow. I will have to wear it in another image to show you just how awesome it is. In the meantime, you probably should just go try on demo and check-out all the great new releases!
Oh! I hope you can see the beautiful 'Perky Bowkerchief' from Aranel Ah of *BOOM*. It comes in every yummy color imaginable. There are 2 short styles, 2 long styles and 3 attachments points. It is indeed the perfect accessory to dress-up any outfit or no outfit at all, like below.

A Day In The Garden

Wow! I've sooooo much stuff to talk about and I don't know where to start first! I guess I will start with this super cute and chic mesh 'flared skirt and floral top'. What makes this set even more special, is because it is a collaboration between two amazing designers, NyuNyu Kimono and Crystalny Resident. It is an event exclusive for Bees Through The Seasons, so you really do not want to miss out on this gorgeous set!
Now, I have been looking for the perfect excuse to wear this fabulous hair and hat style, called "Sabine", which was created by the uber talented Tabata Jewell of Vanity Hair  This style has such a elegant and retro feel, so I really wanted to wear the perfect outfit with it. The hat is texture-change, which definitely helps. Well, my outfit may not be that vintage, but 'Sabine' definitely added some extra glamour and class to my look. I really don't think that I mention enough just how amazing Tabata's hair styles are. Her beautifully crafted hairs cater to so many different styles. From looks that are couture, rebellious, retro or just plain glamorous, Vanity Hair is one place you absolutely must take the time to check out!
Speaking of vintage and retro and style, Winter Thorn of {what next}, designed this incredible 'Garden Cafe Caravan' for The Garden event! I cant think of anything it does not do! Not only does it have this amazing 50's look to it that is all mesh, but it has a tons of animations, cook wear, tasty bits to nibble on and refreshing drinks too. The caravan is also texture-change! If you are looking for anything to cheer-up your home or just a cute gossip nook, this is the perfect center piece.
Izzie Button just recently came out with a gorgeous new skin called Holly. The skin is beautifully rendered with the cutest lips. And, as always, Izzie always gives you tons of options! Eye tattoos, lip tattoos  freckles and cleavage enhancers. Now, you can even purchase an applier HUD for your Slink mesh hands and feet from Izzie.
