Unless you have been living under a prim rock in SL, you must know about the copyright complaint and DMCA take down notice filed by Hush Darkrose (aka HUSH Skins) against Gala Phoenix (aka Curio Skins). It is fairly easy for anyone with just a bit a common sense to say, "WTF?!". Gala has been creating some of the best and most sought after skins on the grid for years. I am sure almost every SL female avi owns at least one Gala's amazing creations. So, I had found it seriously difficult to believe that a content creator of this caliber and reputable reputation, could have been guilty of such allegations. And allegations are just what they are, nothing has been proven in court yet. Unfortunately, in order for Gala to defend her name in court, it will cost quite a bit money to pay a lawyer. The fee runs a very steep 20K USD. Thankfully, many of SL's designers have come together to raise these funds for Gala, by selling exclusive creations with 50-100 percent of the proceeds going to her cause. The last time I checked, around 8K USD has been raised! By participating in this event, called 'ONE VOICE', people are not only helping Gala, but are also taking a stand. This could happen to any content creator! Once a DMCA take down is filed, a creator can no longer sell their creations n SL until a decision is made in court. For many designers in SL, the sales from their creations are their only source of income! It is frightening how can easily one can shut down a person's store and money supply. I am confident that the community will raise what Gala needs and them some. I also give her major props for standing by her name and fighting. I wish only the best and know that they will find her innocent of these insane changes.
