Exile at Hair Fair 2011!!!

Okay, things are getting really bad now with my laptop situation. Dell will still not send me a new one, but I managed to get them to come out and replace all the parts *LOL*. Well, this involved a lot of tears and screaming at the top of my lungs to some unlucky tech person in India. Dell has "notes" on me. I am now a "difficult" customer. But, when a customer service rep was in in the process of sending me the laptop I have now, which is also "replacement", I was PROMISED they were going to "MAKE SURE" that I would "NEVER EVER" have a "PROBLEM" again! Well, what do you know, I have HUGE problem and they basically are telling me "F**K YOU! It takes a lot to make me mad and to get that heated, but Dell does it to me every time. So, please forgive my crappy pics. This post has now taken me over 24 hrs to complete, which is insane. Actually, I think I am insane for trying to do it under these conditions and not giving myself a break, But I have already disappointed so many designers with this mess and I fear my reputation as a blogger is going down down the drain. Everything I worked so hard to achieve is being destroyed by my lousy laptop and need to try and not let people down. So, please accept my sincerest apologies. This situation will be resolved of the end up the upcoming week. Finally! Well, lets hope anyway. You will also not have to read these rants anymore...
On a  much happier note, Kavar Cleanslate of Exile, released 5 fabulous new styles for the much anticipated Hair Fair 2011. These styles are gorgeous and so perfect for summer. I really could not pick a favorite style. What I really love most about Kavar's creations, are his root options. With the addition of a darker root, the hair looks so much more realistic. I am really impressed. I can't say enough wonderful  things about his latest releases. So, since I really tired, after 24 hrs of sub par work, I will let the pictures do the talking.
 Btw, I also paired the hair with Lara Hurely's full make-up line of 'Odette'. 'Odette' is absolutely stunning! I can not take this perfectly rendered skin off! I still have a full review to do on this, so please stay tuned. I was hoping to have it completed already, but my laptop has been too difficult to work with. Once again, I am so sorry.

Yay! Finally, the much anticipated 'TRUTH District' is now officially open! OMFGawdz! This place is definitely a site to see! Sophia Harlow and Truth Hawks put so much hard work into this amazing SIM and it certainly shows. To top it all off, there are so many fabulous designers that can be found there too! This is surely "one stop shopping" at it's best. 'TRUTH District' is a definite MUST see! Like right now! Go! I'm serious! Go, now! Oh wait! You also have to make sure you join the TRUTH District Update Group too (there will be places to join all over). How I Wish You Were Here....

Once again, I am completing a post that should of been up last night. You have got to love SL sometimes! *LOL*. Anyway, I FINALLY had the chance to post several pieces that I have been dying to blog for a little while now. Most of these are new (or at least fairly new) releases that I am sure you have seen already on other blogs or while pursuing the feeds. Two of these pieces come from the fabulous new designer, Elly Naire. I adore her simple, but very feminine designs that have become a wardrobe MUST! I am wearing her beautifully rendered 'victorian blouse', as well as her super adorable 'cowboy hat'. Both of these creations come in ton of gorgeous colors. I also got a chance to wear my new favorite earrings from Elikem Melodie of MONS. These amazing blue 'feather earrings', also come in green and white. Feathers have become a HUGE trend, especially when they adorn jewelry. So, I would just buy all three colors. I seriously LOVE them! Ekilem, who we all know makes "to-die-for" skins (you will be seeing several upcoming reviews of these too...laptop willing), also made some awesome bangles in a TON of colors and shapes. You will see in the pics below that I basically just mixed and matched them, while attaching as many as I could to my wrists (and that my viewer would allow me). For those of you who use Phoenix Viewer or Kirstens, you can attach several objects to one point, even though they don't give you second attachment points any more. All you have to right click on the object, select wear and attach to the object to the point that you want to wear it on. Depending on the attachment, you may need to mod. This is only necessary if you wear an object on a different attachment point then what it was made for.

Can't Find My Way Home...

When I had first attempted to do this write up, I wasn't in the best mood. So, I actually just erased everything that I had written about me, not the clothes mind you. The clothes always cheer me up. But, I was just feeling hormonal, overwhelmed and frustrated. This blog was supposed to be up yesterday, but SL was acting lovely as usual and I kept losing over half of my inventory every time I crashed, which was a lot yesterday. I never crash like that. So, I basically had to clear my cache and repopulate my inventory 3 times!!!. So, suffice to say, I wasn't able to finish styling my outfits and start taking pics until around 4am this morning. Each time taking approximately 3-4 hrs for my inventory to fully load, which also never happens. It usually takes 45 mins... I know what you are thinking, but I have an abnormally large inventory. And, yes, I do know I need help and some 12 step program for SL inventory hoarders. So, it is 8pm now ( I began writing this at 11am) and I am just finishing up this post. I just spent the last 9 hrs to venting to a friend. I think she is also going to need help now, but for PSD. I can be a pain in butt and a bit exhausting to around. Why am I writing this? I really don't know, but I this is my blog. You can decide to skip to the next part or make fun of my neurotic rants. I do my best to limit these, but this month has been unusually difficult for me.
So, enough ranting, and on to the the gorgeous goods. I was thrilled to be able to review and style these 'Vee: Dresses' from Milla Michinaga of MichaMi. I love her fabulous sense of style and how it translates into SL textures and prims. The lines are clean and simple. The textures are rich with color and lovely prints. Milla's creations have a very classic feel that also shows off the female form so eloquently. Her pieces remind me a bit of Diane Von Furstenberg mixed with Stella McCartney. Waiting To Exhale....

My laptop is about to die at any second and my solution as to replacement is still pending. Oye! So, please keep your fingers crossed that this dying laptop can make until I find a resolution. I shutter at the thought of being without access to Second Life, which probably means that I need a break anyway. I actually even feel guilty for feeling this way, since in retrospect, this is purely a luxury problem and not an absolute necessity. Even though many of us feel that is... Well, I guess if I were using this as a way to make a living, but I am not. There are people with far worse problems in then world than not being able to post an outfit I styled.

First off, I just wanted to apologize for the tardiness of this post. I will not start ranting and raving about my dying laptop, but it has slowed me down A LOT. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this situation will be finally be remedied in a couple of weeks. So, I beg you, please bear with me. Aranel has this way of creating very sexy and revealing clothing, while still maintaining high quality and amazing taste. Now that Summer is officially here, Aranel came out with a pair of awesome denim "short" shorts, which are also called the 'Feel Free' shorts. These are definitely a Summer inventory must! She also created the cutest halter top, called the 'Thrill Halter'. The 'Thrill Halter' is beautifully sculpted with the most perfectly tied bows in the back. They also come with 5 size options for one's chest and a base in every layer imaginable. A Secret Between Friends...

Once again, I had the pleasure and honor of working with Kaelyn Alecto, who is a seriously talented 'sl-fashion' blogger and also someone who I am proud to call an even more amazing friend. We had long awaited Maylee Oh's (The Secret Store) new releases. Finally, the time an had come and Maylee outdid herself again. This 'mini Summer collection' is STUNNING! So, now the hard the part had settled in... Finding the time to blog these pieces together! Unfortunately, Kaelyn and I are in different time zones and have crazy RL schedules. Finally, we found the time, but with my ever dying laptop mixed with some major lag, we could only manage to capture one outfit on each on us. Our idea of being able to style and "quickly" snap some pics of this lovely collection, was soon met with the reality of our situation. So, hopefully,when I have working a laptop, we will be able to do a bigger post in the future. Trying To Catch-up!

Blogging can be a lot of fun and it can also be very frustrating. The frustration kicks in, when your major tool of the trade, besides your creative mind, breaks down. This being my laptop. Many people are asking why I just don't buy a new one!? This seems like a simple enough answer, but it's becoming rather annoying. It is especially irritating to hear, since if I had the extra money, I probably would. However, when you are ill, have no medical insurance and are paying $4 USD per gallon of gas to go to several doctors appts per week, extra cash ceases to exist. Another reason why this comment bothers me, is becuase this system is less than a year old and under warrantee. A lot of money was also spent on this laptop to boot (no pun intended)! So, the juggling act with Dell continues. I call them and they either send me another system with a faulty heat synch or just a faulty refurbished replacement heat synch. Now, they want me to send my laptop to them to be fixed again, which takes a month. I am NOT waiting a month! My solution is simple... Just send me a freaking different model with heat synch that doesn't fry out every 2 months! So, once again, I need to spend my day arguing with people who I can't understand and who can't understand me. We both in turn perceive this as being rude and nothing is resolved! Oy! I just needed to get that off my chest and also apologize to the many wonderful designers who are waiting on my posts. I am working as quickly as my laptop will let me. Now, on a positive note.... Sissy Pessoa just recently released the 'Poletj' dress in 6 gorgeous colors! I am always in awe of Sissy's superb prim work and romantic style. These dresses, which are very rich in color and texture, have slightly vintage and Asian feel. A definite must for any upscale Summer outing or if you just want to feel fabulous. Lemon Sorbet

Being a native New Yorker and Manhattanite, I have always had a love affair with color black. Practially my whole wardrobe, except for a few bright colored accessories, consisted of black and neutrals (from white all the way to the darkest brown). The very thought of even wearing bright color, especially yellow, was incomprehensible. I shunned bright colors, like a vampire does sunlight. However, the strangest thing has started to happen to me... I am being drawn to bright colors! The brighter the better! I am loving the citrus shades of orange, lime, and lemon. The passionate tones of fuchsia and red. It most be hormonal, becuase this just doesn't happen to someone like me. I do have to admit, I only wear such vibrant colors in Second Life.I still have not worked up the ability to step out of neutral shell in RL. So, with that all said, I think this outfit sums up what I am talking about. This fabulous 'Lemon Sorbet[' dress, which was created by the even more fab Applonia Criss of CHANTKARE, is the perfect shade of yellow. Mind you it will not be available until the next cycle of 'The Fashion Garret'. So you will have to wait a few days to grab it. Mikee Mokeev of Mstyle, surprised us with a line of solid color ' RIVEA' Pumps in a bunch of juicy colors. Of course, I am wearing 'Lemon'. To finish off this Summery ensemble, I chose to wear the 'yellows' from Julia Merosi's new 'asymetrique' line of necklaces of earrings. You can find the whole color line at her store ::je::suis::.
